    Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Automation and Control Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), including but not limited to the programming and integration of Niagara 4 Framework, Honeywell Spyders, Honeywell Optimizers, and Distech Controls. This role entails working on and off-site in close collaboration with our team as well as the ability to design and bid on projects, providing accurate estimates and proposals for new projects. Your contributions are critical to the success of our projects, and we always expect the highest standards of performance and safety.
    System Design and Implementation

    • Design, develop, program and implement building automation systems (BAS) to control and monitor mechanical and electrical systems within commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.
    • Create and review BAS drawings, specifications, and submittals.
    • Lead and manage BAS projects on-site and remote from conception through completion.
    • Coordinate with government entities, clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met.
    • Provide technical support and guidance during all phases of projects.
    • Assist in the development of Sequences of Operations as necessary.
    • Analyze project requirements and specifications to prepare accurate and competitive bid proposals.
    • Estimate costs, resources, and timelines for new BAS projects.

    Programming in Implementation

    • Traveling to multiple states to perform work at various government and commercial installations.
    • Develop and customize BAS software, particularly within the Niagara 4 Framework.
    • Develop control programs and integrate various control systems, including Honeywell Spyders, Honeywell Optimizers, and Distech Controls.
    • Communicating effectively with on-site personnel to ensure the Statement of Objectives (SOO) aligns with customer or contractual requirements.
    • Ensure seamless communication and interoperability between different system components.
    • Strictly adhering to all safety standards.
    • Work with government entities and customers to build a secure BAS infrastructure.

    System Testing, Commissioning, Maintenance and Support

    • Conduct system testing and commissioning to verify proper operation of BAS.
    • Perform pre-commissioning and final commissioning of building automation systems.
    • Coordinating the takeover and/or completing the installation of Building Automation Systems as well as successful start-up and completion of assigned projects.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the commissioning process.
    • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for installed BAS to ensure optimal performance.
    • Train clients and end-users in the operation and maintenance of BAS.

    Documentation and Reporting

    • Work directory with the Project manager to ensure smooth communication and dissemination of information to the BAS team.
    • Participating in site meetings and providing progress reports on the status of the job.
    • Prepare detailed documentation, including design documents, user manuals, and maintenance records.
    • Generate regular reports on project status, system performance, and other relevant metrics.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
    • The ability to obtain a Security Clearance
    • A proven track record with a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in HVAC, Building Automation, or control systems is required, with at least 3 years of direct involvement in integration, checkout, testing, commissioning, and field support of DDC based automation systems.
    • Proven track record with experience in programming HVAC application specific controllers from scratch to meet requirements as outlined in a sequence of operation.
    • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems.
    • Strong Knowledge of both serial and IP-based networks and various building automation communication protocols and systems is highly preferred, including but not limited to Niagara Tridium, BACnet, LonWorks and Modbus.
    • Ability to efficiently organize and lay out jobsite activities, including material takeoffs and ordering specifications.
    • Travel 100% is crucial, as this role often necessitates engagement at various locations.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Vision, and Excel 
    • Possess a general knowledge of IT and network systems.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Niagara 4 Technical Certification.
    • Knowledge of Honeywell Spyder, Honeywell Optimizer, and Distech Controls programming.
    • AutoCAD experience.
    • Ability to assist in the development and design of controls drawings
    • Honeywell Spyder or Optimizer training
    • Distech Controls Certification
