Regional Sales Manager
This role is integral to advancing high-performance, reliable battery solutions within the industrial and mobility sectors across the United States. The primary focus of this position is to expand the market for stationary battery solutions, including nickel and lithium-based products, within the industrial and infrastructure segments of the assigned region. The role involves a mix of business development and territory management, often working through manufacturer’s representatives, while also managing direct relationships with key accounts. The responsibilities include delivering technical presentations to influence engineering decisions in favor of the company’s products for various projects and leading strategic initiatives for multiple proposals annually.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Proven experience as a B2B outside sales representative, preferably within the electrical solutions or technology product market.
- A minimum of 5 years of field sales experience for technical solutions.
- Demonstrated success in consistently achieving growth and budget targets.
- Proficiency with computers, particularly advanced knowledge of MS Office.
- Familiarity with BRM and CRM practices, and the ability to build strong business relationships.
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented, with a proven track record in sales.
- Excellent skills in selling, negotiation, and communication.
- Strong prioritization, time management, and organizational abilities.
- Capability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the needs of diverse audiences.
- Strong relationship management skills and receptiveness to feedback.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Presenting, promoting, and selling products/services effectively to existing and prospective customers.
- Supporting the growth of stationary battery solutions by expanding current business and developing new opportunities to meet or exceed yearly sales targets. While the primary focus is on stationary battery solutions, the role may also involve developing business for other applications within the division.
- Ensuring optimized territory coverage by creating, executing, and adjusting growth strategies, including the effective use of representatives and other channels (house accounts, VARs, resellers, service providers).
- Managing representative performance through quarterly reviews, discussing results, actions, open projects, new customers, competition, and quote success rates.
- Managing and sharing opportunities and open quote information through company-wide tools (CRM).
- Ensuring proper training for sales representatives, OEMs, and service companies, including organizing training sessions via online platforms.
- Planning and executing technical presentations to establish relationships with consultants, engineering firms, EPCs, and FEEDs in the Power Generation & Distribution/Industrial markets within the assigned region.
- Engaging with existing and potential customers to identify and establish relationships with new accounts, including re-engaging with past accounts that have not made purchases in the last three years.
- Staying informed on best practices and promotional trends.
- Continuously improving through both internal and external feedback.
