⚡Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Power Systems Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical power systems for space missions, satellite platforms, and ground support equipment. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to ensure reliable, efficient, and scalable power solutions that support our innovative space endeavors.
⚡Key Responsibilities:
- Design, analyze, and test electrical power systems, including power generation, conversion, distribution, and storage for space-based applications.
- Develop detailed power budgets, simulations, and performance models for spacecraft and satellite systems.
- Support the integration of power systems with other subsystems (e.g., thermal, propulsion, avionics) for seamless operation.
- Perform risk assessments and failure analysis, and develop mitigation strategies for potential power system issues.
- Ensure that power systems meet mission-specific requirements, including environmental and operational constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize power efficiency and system reliability.
- Participate in the design review process and provide technical guidance on power-related matters.
- Contribute to the documentation of power system designs, testing protocols, and results.
⚡Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related field); advanced degrees preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on power systems for aerospace, space, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of power generation, conversion, distribution, and storage systems.
- Experience with power system simulations, modeling tools, and related software (e.g., MATLAB, SPICE, PSpice, etc.).
- Familiarity with space systems and the unique challenges of designing for space environments (radiation, vacuum, temperature extremes).
- Proficiency in power electronics, solar power systems, and energy storage technologies (batteries, capacitors).
- Experience with mission planning, power budgets, and electrical system integration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail and a passion for innovation.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
