Role Overview: This position focuses on analyzing and interpreting key trends in power markets— particularly those related to regulatory developments, technological innovations (like renewables and energy storage), and competitor activity. The goal is to generate unique, data-driven insights that influence commercial strategies across multiple U.S. ISOs, including CAISO, PJM, MISO, and the Northeast. Core Responsibilities: • Deliver both short- and long-range outlooks on market fundamentals, including renewable deployment and cost trajectories, to guide strategic decisions across all covered markets. • Enhance and maintain internalforecasting and power modeling frameworks to evaluate the impact of shifts in market conditions. • Assess the implications oftransmission buildouts, generation additions or retirements, load growth, and policy changes on pricing and congestion patterns. • Provide market intelligence to support investment evaluations, including acquisitions and major capital initiatives. • Where applicable, integrate advanced analyticaltechniques or data science approaches to refine market outlooks and risk assessments. • Offer in-depth understanding of capacity market mechanisms and apply this knowledge to inform bidding strategies and broader commercial planning. • Track and interpret evolving trends in fuel pricing, demand forecasts, and new project developments with a focus on mid-term market implications. Preferred Background s Skills: • Experience in power markets, energy analytics, or a closely related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. • Strong grasp of market design and dynamics across multiple U.S. power regions. • Experience with fundamental market modeling platforms (e.g., Aurora, PROMOD, GE-MAPS, etc.) is desirable. • Proficiency in data analytics and programming is a plus. Familiarity with Python, SQL, or BI tools like Power BI is considered an advantage. • Strong communication and presentation skills,including the ability to translate complex findings into business-relevant insights. • Academic background in engineering, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field preferred.
