Anthony Goossens, the Director of Storm4 Europe

Tell us a little about yourself and your background!

Hi, I’m Anthony and I’m the Director of Storm4 Europe. Well, I’m Belgian born with British roots. Over the past eight years I recruited and lived pretty much all over The US and Europe. I studied Agriculture myself – which, as you can imagine comes together nicely at Storm4 and GreenTech.

What are you most proud of professionally?

I have successfully placed +100 candidates over the years. For me, this translates into impacting people’s lives positively. I have also had the opportunity to work with some of the world’s leading tech companies, from start-ups to big techs, accumulating a pretty good understanding of recruitment strategies, processes, and best practices.

Are there any areas of GreenTech that excite you the most?

Agtech and vertical farming hold a sweet spot on my list. Plus, there is so much going on out there through start-ups and thought leaders who are mission driven and actually want to do something good for this planet.

Are companies actively hiring?

Yes! The war on talent is relentless and back on track, post-pandemic. The most in-demand markets are and always will be Tech/Engineering, Product, Data and Sales.

What do you see as the growth areas or trends for 2022 in GreenTech?

There are so many markets on the rise; EV, Battery Tech, Circular Economy and ESG applications are huge! The Greentech market will become one of the main industries over the coming years. Unfortunately, people ‘need-to-feel-in-order-to-act’, so hold tight!

What’s your advice for GreenTech on Attracting and Retaining top talent?

Prioritize hiring and keep your employees happy. You don’t have time to interview as you are too busy? Think about fully remote set ups. Our fastest growing clients have fully remote policies. The added value here is enormous: accessing remote talent and a higher work-life balance.
