Director of Business Development
HVAC / Submetering (US Market Launch)
Overview
We are seeking an entrepreneurial, commercially driven sales leader to launch and scale our US operations within the HVAC and submetering space. This is a high-impact role responsible for building go-to-market strategy, generating revenue from day one, and establishing a strong foothold in key metropolitan markets, starting in the Northeast.
This opportunity is ideal for a senior business development professional with deep HVAC, thermal metering, or building systems experience who has successfully built markets, opened territories, and grown revenue from zero.
About the Business
We operate at the intersection of HVAC, thermal energy metering, and smart building technology. Our platform combines advanced metering hardware (including thermal and water meters) with proprietary software and sensors to deliver actionable data that reduces energy costs and improves building efficiency.
Having established strong success internationally, we are now expanding into the United States with fully approved products and operational support in place. The next step is commercial execution.
The Role
This is a true market builder position. You will:
-
Develop and execute the US go-to-market strategy
-
Launch operations in priority markets (initial focus on New York / Northeast)
-
Generate new revenue through direct sales and strategic partnerships
-
Build relationships with property management companies, building owners, and mechanical engineering firms
-
Establish partnerships within the HVAC and mechanical ecosystem
-
Hire and lead junior sales team members as the business scales
-
Own pipeline development, forecasting, and revenue growth
-
Act as the commercial lead in the US, working closely with executive leadership
This is a hands-on hunter role with long-term leadership responsibility.
Ideal Background
We are looking for someone with:
-
8–15+ years of experience in HVAC, submetering, building automation, mechanical systems, or energy management
-
A strong track record in business development and revenue generation
-
Experience launching new markets, territories, or divisions
-
Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams
-
Existing relationships within property management, multifamily housing, commercial real estate, or mechanical engineering firms
-
Experience selling into high-rise residential or commercial buildings
-
A strategic mindset with the ability to execute tactically
-
Entrepreneurial drive and comfort operating with limited US infrastructure initially
Submetering or thermal energy metering experience is highly desirable. HVAC sales leaders with strong commercial building networks are also encouraged to apply.
Location
Remote initially, with a focus on building presence in New York and the Northeast. Other major metropolitan markets may follow as expansion progresses.
