About the Role
A leading U.S. defense contractor specializing in advanced power conversion systems is seeking a strategic and hands-on Electrical Engineering Lead to drive innovation across a portfolio of defense programs. This role is ideal for a senior technical leader with deep experience in military hardware development, cross-functional program execution, and managing high-impact engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all phases of engineering for defense power hardware programs—from quoting and proposal development through qualification and sustainment.
- Manage a team of electrical engineers working in tandem with mechanical engineers to meet program objectives.
- Create and maintain program design documentation, including system design review materials for preliminary and critical design reviews.
- Interface directly with defense clients and shipbuilders throughout the program lifecycle.
- Track progress against cost, schedule, and technical performance goals.
- Lead internal and external teams, including subcontractors and consultants.
- Oversee risk and opportunity management across the program portfolio.
- Support sustainment efforts such as spare parts, preventative maintenance, and follow-on orders.
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Experience leading large defense hardware development programs (land, sea, or air).
- Strong background in power conversion or power electronics product development.
- Familiarity with MIL-SPEC requirements and VCRM matrix compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage government-funded contracts and budgets.
