Senior Director of Engineering

Overview
This is a senior-level leadership role in engineering management, responsible for guiding multiple project teams on some of the most technically demanding work in the industry. You’ll oversee large-scale electrical engineering projects—particularly in data centers, AI facilities, and other mission-critical environments—while mentoring Engineering Team Leads and building out high-performing teams across regions.
What You’ll Do

Define project scopes and establish design fees based on requirements.

Build and oversee detailed work plans for engineering and production resources.

Manage allocation of team resources and ensure projects remain on budget and schedule.

Recruit, develop, and train engineering staff across your assigned region.

Provide direct oversight to Engineering Team Leads, Engineers, Designers, and BIM staff.

Partner with executives and division leaders to align deliverables and performance expectations.

Review and approve project designs through independent QA/QC.

Solve complex technical and coordination challenges across disciplines.

Represent engineering teams in meetings with owners, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

Lead value engineering studies and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.

What You’ll Need
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences.

10+ years of engineering experience, with a strong background in mission-critical systems.

Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.

Deep technical expertise in load calculations, MV/HV distribution, standby systems, grounding, and system studies (short circuit, arc flash, protection, thermal).

Experience developing sequences of operation for automated systems.

Knowledge of electrical construction methods and workflows.

Strong project management skills including work planning, fee development, and staff development.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Oracle experience preferred.

Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Strong field experience is highly recommended.
Travel & Work Environment

Up to 25% travel (excluding local site visits).

Office-based with periodic site visits.

Work includes desk tasks, walking job sites, and occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs).

Typical office conditions with moderate jobsite noise when required.
