⚡ Position Overview:
We are seeking a MISO/PJM Fundamental Trader & Analyst to lead detailed research and analysis of electricity market fundamentals – spanning supply, demand, and transmission congestion -within the MISO and PJM regions. Your insights will directly support both day-to-day trading strategies and long-term market outlooks. The role also includes building, maintaining, and executing power flow optimization models to drive systematic congestion analysis and nodal market simulations.
⚡ Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse daily and forward fundamentals (load, generation, transmission) to identify congestion opportunities.
- Build, maintain, and execute power-flow optimisation and nodal market-simulation models (Dayzer, PowerWorld, PROMOD, etc.).
- Generate systematic congestion analysis and trade ideas for FTRs, virtuals, and related ISO products.
- Assess impacts of neighbouring ISOs/RTOs on MISO & PJM flows and basis markets.
- Produce research to support both prompt trading and longer-term commercial strategy.
- Collaborate with technology teams to improve data pipelines and model performance.
⚡ Qualifications Needed:
- 2-5 years proven P&L experience trading MISO/PJM FTRs or virtuals.
- Advanced programming in Python or R; familiarity with optimisation libraries.
- Hands-on with industry tools (Dayzer, PowerWorld, PROMOD, or similar).
