💰 Competitive Salary
A confidential opportunity with a growing organisation operating at the intersection of energy, infrastructure and technology.
Join a venture-backed energy technology business developing advanced market intelligence, forecasting, and analytics solutions for the electricity sector. This role will play a critical part in building and maintaining market views that underpin pricing, forecasting, and operational decision-making for customers navigating increasingly complex power markets.
You’ll have significant ownership from day one, helping shape modelling methodologies, data pipelines, and analytical frameworks used across a customer-facing software platform. Working closely with engineering and modelling teams, you’ll contribute directly to products supporting the changing energy landscape.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain market analysis frameworks supporting nodal power price modelling
• Source, structure, and interpret complex market, generation, and transmission datasets
• Partner with modelling teams to improve forecast accuracy and investigate model performance
• Collaborate with engineers to automate analytical workflows and production data pipelines
• Provide market expertise and support expansion into additional electricity markets
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience analysing power markets or participating in electricity trading environments
• Strong understanding of power market fundamentals, congestion dynamics, price formation, and market operations
• Proficiency in Python and data analysis techniques applied to large, complex datasets
• Degree in a quantitative discipline such as engineering, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or power systems
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with high levels of ownership and ambiguity
Nice to Have:
• Experience building forecasting, dispatch, optimisation, or pricing models
• Familiarity with wholesale electricity market datasets and regulatory frameworks
• Experience developing automated analytical workflows and data pipelines
• Experience integrating AI tools into analytical and research processes
• Exposure to multiple North American power markets
Why Apply?
• Opportunity to influence the development of next-generation energy market analytics products
• High-impact role with significant ownership and close collaboration across technical teams
• Remote-first environment with strong growth potential and exposure to complex market challenges
