This is a rare opportunity to lead the finance function of a Maryland-based spin-off scaling next-generation, AI-driven compute environments by leveraging the data center, cloud, and fiber assets of a well-established infrastructure company. The business is also open to finance leaders with experience in the construction or infrastructure sectors, given the capital-intensive nature of its operations.
 
As CFO, you’ll work closely with the CEO and board to drive financial strategy, scale operations, and secure funding for aggressive growth. This is a high-visibility executive role offering equity participation and the chance to shape the financial future of a business at the intersection of AI, data infrastructure, and large-scale development.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Finance & Planning-– Lead long-range planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support high-growth and infrastructure buildout.
• Capital Markets & Fundraising – Oversee debt and equity raises; manage relationships with investors, lenders, and financial partners.
• Board & Investor Relations – Develop board materials, lead investor communications, and provide strategic insights on performance.
• Operational Finance – Build and scale FP&A, accounting, treasury, and tax; implement financial systems and KPIs.
• M&A & Growth Strategy – Evaluate and execute acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
• Risk & Compliance – Ensure strong internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of finance leadership experience, including recent CFO or VP Finance roles in data center, cloud, construction, telecom, or infrastructure.
• Proven track record raising $100M+ across debt/equity instruments; comfortable leading capital-intensive growth.
• Deep understanding of project-based accounting, FP&A, and financial oversight for large-scale builds.
• Experience working with boards, institutional investors, and external stakeholders in high-growth or PE/VC-backed environments.
• CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred; familiarity with SEC reporting a plus.
• Hands-on and strategic leader with a track record of building and leading high-performing finance teams.
