Are you passionate about electric aviation and advanced power systems? We’re seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join our Battery Management System (BMS) team focused on shaping the future of autonomous electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
In this role, you’ll help lead the design and development of the systems that control and monitor both low and high-voltage battery assemblies. You’ll be working on cutting-edge energy storage and power distribution solutions in collaboration with a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team. ⚡ What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design and develop key components of the battery management and power distribution systems for next-gen eVTOL aircraft.
- Collaborate across systems, mechanical, testing, safety, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust and certifiable designs.
- Participate in architectural decisions, design reviews, and lifecycle planning from concept to delivery.
- Lead problem-solving efforts across integration, testing, and design activities.
- Help define system-level requirements and support the creation of technical documentation.
- Support vendor coordination, equipment procurement, and verification efforts.
- Play an active role in hiring and mentoring, as well as supporting outsourcing efforts.
⚡What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s with 6+ years).
- Proven background in aerospace or automotive industries.
- Strong hands-on experience designing complex, safety-critical electronic systems.
- Deep expertise in Battery Management Systems, high-voltage systems, and both analog and digital circuit design.
- Familiarity with PCBA design tools (Altium preferred).
- Practical experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors, and FPGAs, including a solid grasp of firmware and embedded software integration.
- Understanding of certification-driven development processes (e.g., DO-254, DO-160G) is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
