Senior Trading Analyst
Position Overview The Senior Trading Analyst role is part of the Transformation and Analytics group and is focused on supporting the development and application of data-driven models that enhance trading effectiveness and streamline operational workflows. This individual plays a crucial role in analyzing data to uncover potential market opportunities, designing performance dashboards, and aiding the execution of initiatives aimed at operational excellence. The analyst is also expected to stay informed about energy market developments and work collaboratively with traders and analytics professionals. Location- Dallas, Texas Core Responsibilities Analytical Development: • Build and implement data science models to reinforce trading strategies and boost efficiency across trading operations. • Perform statistical and trend analysis to discover market opportunities and optimize trading decisions. • Design and update reporting tools and dashboards that monitor trading performance and operational KPIs. Market Intelligence: • Keep abreast of evolving market dynamics, policy changes, and innovations relevant to energy trading. • Carry out comprehensive market assessments and compile insights for internal use. • Assist in presenting data-driven conclusions and market updates to crossfunctional stakeholders. Team Collaboration: • Engage regularly with analytics professionals, traders, IT teams, and commercial staff to ensure that analytics efforts align with business goals. • Actively participate in team discussions and contribute to strategic trading initiatives. • Support effective communication and decision-making by providing databacked insights within the team. Qualifications and Skills • Educational background in finance, economics, engineering, data science, mathematics, or statistics. • Skilled in Python programming, with an added advantage for those experienced in software development. • Experience with algorithmic design, quantitative modeling, and the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence within a commercial setting. • At least three years of relevant industry experience, ideally involving direct support of trading desks or within quantitative roles in commodity markets. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to work effectively alongside senior team members. • Deep understanding of energy markets and commodity trading, including an ability to assess risks related to credit, operations, and market movements
