⚡ Senior BESS Engineer | Americas (Remote, Up to 25% Travel)

🏢 Company: Storm4’s client is a leading battery analytics software company helping asset owners, developers, and operators optimize Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) performance across the energy transition.

We’re seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers across the Americas. This role sits at the intersection of customer-facing engineering and battery performance analysis, supporting projects from technical discovery and onboarding through commissioning, KPI deployment, and long-term asset optimization.

Responsibilities:

✅ Serve as the primary technical contact for BESS customers across the Americas, partnering with both technical and commercial stakeholders

✅ Support pre-sales activities including technical discovery, system architecture discussions, and data readiness assessments

✅ Lead customer onboarding by reviewing system architectures, single-line diagrams, and battery data structures

✅ Manage KPI deployment, validation, and troubleshooting of battery performance and operational data

✅ Conduct performance analysis for commissioning and augmentation projects, identifying battery health, capacity, and operational issues

✅ Deliver customer training sessions and collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to improve platform capabilities

🎯 Qualifications

✔️ Experience in the Battery Energy Storage industry as a Performance Engineer, Systems Engineer, O&M Engineer, or similar role

✔️ Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline

✔️ Experience analyzing operational battery data and using Python for troubleshooting, validation, or performance analytics

✔️ Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery behavior, degradation mechanisms, capacity fade, state of charge estimation, and cell-level performance

✔️ Knowledge of BESS communications and data protocols such as Modbus, OPC-UA, IEC-104, REST APIs, or similar technologies
